- ║ LABEL PREFIXES AND THE REPEAT COMMAND ║
- ╚═══════════════════════════════════════╝
- You Can Enter Three Kinds Of Information In A Cell.
-
- √√√ A LABEL INFORMATION
- Label information is ordinary text, like your
- name and address, title, and and numbers that are not used
- for a mathematical calculations. Phone numbers and Zip codes
- are examples are example of numbers that are considered Labels
- and can be entered into a Cell.
-
- √√√ NUMERIC LABELS
- Numeric Labels will not calculate, like the date 6-12-92.
- You must use a Label prefix (') apostrophe before the
- numbers or they will not be accepted by Lotus.
-
- √√√ FORMULAS @SUM(A1..A6)
- Formulas are instructions that do mathematical calculations.
- The formula @SUM(A1..A6) states it adds the sum of all
- values from Cell A1 to Cell A6.
- Labels always start with some kind of a Label prefix, like
- an apostrophe, or a caret (^).
-
- The apostrophe (') creates a left flush side (left adjust).
- The caret (^) centers the information you type into a Cell.
- The quotation mark (") creates a flush right, that is,
- the information lines up from from the right side of the Cell,
- called right alignment or right adjust.
-
- To put the date in a Cell, you must use a Label prefix like
- the apostrophe, the caret, or the quotation mark (").
- For example, to enter the date in a Cell, type '6-11-92,
- or if you want the date centered in the Cell use the caret,
- like this ^6-11-92
-
- √√√ Centering The Date
- Move cursor to Cell A1.
- Type ^6-11-92
- Press Down Arrow. Date appears centered in Cell A1.
- Cell A2 is Highlighted.
-
- √√√ To Make ZIP Code Right Flush Alignment
- Type "31275
- Press Down Arrow. ZIP code appears in Cell A2 as Right Flush.
-
- √√√ Left Adjust (Left Alignment
- The apostrophe (') automatically makes Left Adjust,
-
- √√√ SUMMARY OF FOUR ALIGNMENT PREFIXES
- We'll use the numbers 345 to demonstrate Alignment.
- Type '345 in Cell A1. Goes to Left side (alingnment) Cell. 345
- Type ^345 in Cell A2. Goes to Center of Cell. 345
- Type "345 in Cell A3. Goes to right (adjust) of Cell. 345
- Type 345 in Cell A4. Numbers go to Right (adjust) of Cell. 345
-
- When no prefix is used with numbers, alignment is always Right.
